Common Financial Questions

  • In all honesty, we can’t say anything for sure until the paychecks come in on Thursday. Based on Maureen Scanlon’s email, we are expecting pre-approved leaves to be honored. Worst case scenario, the vacation hours will be placed back in your bank.

  • While we understand it’s more difficult now with 15,000 nurses out on strike - we still encourage everyone to seek employment with the agencies in our strike manual.

Please note - do not take a position that has you crossing a hospital picket line. We are one union, it’s one fight!

  • One union, one fight. DO NOT PICK UP A CONTRACT AT ONE OF OUR SIBLING FACILITIES OUT ON STRIKE. There are other facilities that are not on strike that can use your expertise!

  • Depending on the income from the PD job, you may make too much income to be eligible for unemployment payments.

  • No. There is a 2 week waiting period prior to earning unemployment insurance.

  • Montefiore FEIN: 13-1740114
